Our Education Mission


The online education mission of the Chamber eLearning Center is to use technology and the Internet to advance and support small business development and entrepreneurial success through education and training by providing access to quality online training across multiple digital devices anywhere…. anytime.

Education-based Solution 

Powered by Global Classroom, the Chamber eLearning Center provides a total education solution for building technology, business and career ready communities. The solution includes thousands of online courses and video tutorials for small business owners to access anytime...from anywhere.  The platform also includes a Learning Management System (LMS) for course management, course development and tracking course participation. Career readiness and skills-based testing are planned for the fall of 2014. Course content from a growing list of nationally recognized technology and training companies (e.g. Skillsoft, Microsoft, Franklin Covey, Emily Post and WIN Learning) contribute to a total solution that supports the Chamber's education-based mission for their business members.

Unlimited Access to Courses

The Chamber eLearning Center will provide small business owners and their employees with unlimited access to hundreds online courses and video tutorials. Today the Chamber eLearning Center has over 1,400 online courses and videos…by year-end 2014 this number will double.

 

  1. Technology – courses are focused on how technology supports business success. Courses prepare small business owners to succeed using the latest technologies and software (e.g. Microsoft, Google, social media, software development, mobile applications).
  2. Business Development – courses cover every area of small business professional development. Content areas include leadership, management, business communications, finance, sales and marketing, small business accounting, web marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and technology.
  3. Career Readiness – every small business has to hire qualified employees to grow and succeed. The Chamber Education Center includes courses in business etiquette, basic writing, math, critical thinking, communication and teamwork.
